LMFF TVC

Role : Co-Director (with Mungo Horey), Designer, Illustrator, Animator, Compositor // Studio: SELF (with Paper Stone Scissors)

LMFF is L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival. For the year 2007, we were comissioned to create a 30 sec TVC based
on the five to six key festival images that has already been photographed.

There was no script, only a requirement that the images be displayed prominently in the commercial.
So we were given the freedom to choreograph the motion sequence to tie them all together.
We initially wanted a much more elaborate narrative, (see storyboard below), but that did not get the client’s approval…

Initial Storyboard that was abandoned, where the narrative begins with the neon colours seeping into
an otherwise black-and-white world, through the teardrop of the first of the five key images of a young girl in a ‘ballerina’ outfit.
